BODY-MIND THERAPY
Compassionate Space - For the whole self
Contact: Anne Ethier, compassionatespace@yahoo.com (706)614-6060
In addition to traditional counseling psychology, Anne Ethier practices body-mind therapy, which works from the philosophy that our body, mind, emotions, & spirit are all a part of who we are. By incorporating all four parts, clients are able to access their feelings, beliefs, history, and inner wisdom in a deeper way than can be reached through talk therapy alone.
Through body-mind therapy, Anne is constantly encouraging clients to notice their breath and body sensations as well as thoughts. Anne believes our physical bodies hold wisdom, if we take the time to notice the signals.
The methods that Anne uses are gentle, experiential, often playful, and always revealing. Nothing is imposed. Anne tries to avoid analysis and allows meaning to arise from within. To notice what arises inside without judgment is the essence of Body-Mind Therapy and a pathway to deep and abiding healing.
Anne graduated with a Masters in Psychology/Counseling from Goddard College (www.goddard.edu), and is currently working towards licensure as an employee of Pathways Counseling with Holly Johnson, LCSW. In addition to counseling, Anne is also a Yoga Instructor, Massage Therapist, and Dancer.
