History

Founded in 2005 by Laura Glenn, Julie Rothschild and Lisa Yaconelli, Floorspace offers classes for adults and children in Modern Dance, Creative Movement, Contact Improvisation, and Taijiquan and Qigong. Home to Warehouse Collective, an Athens based contemporary dance company, Floorspace provides local and regional choreographers, musicians, video artists and performing artists an intimate venue in which to converse, collaborate and create innovative performances.

Thanks to the Athens community, friends and family for their generous contributions and support.

Warehouse Collective:

-In the fall of 2002, 5 independent dance and performing artists gathered to discuss their individual artistic processes. Recognizing their common intention of generating new and innovative work to perform, they named themselves Warehouse Collective and produced their first show, Viewpoints, at Canopy Studio in December of 2002. Warehouse Collective continues to bring together local and regional choreographers and performing artists to converse, collaborate, and create performances to share with the public. Through workshops and classes, Warehouse Collective involves members of the community in the process of making and performing new work. Warehouse Collective Artists, Past and Present:
